Gifts from the Heart
Gifts from the Heart (GFTH) is a charitable program of Just Kids, Inc., the non-profit Foundation of San pedro Kiwanis. GFTH was established to provide children with immediate needs: new clothing, shoes, items or services as suggested by school nurses from Sierra Vista, Palominas or Huachuca City Public Schools. Nurses work with children every day and observe those needing things their families are unable to provide.

Beads of Courage “Beads in the Mail”
When Beads of Courage started, they only provided the beads for children in the sponsoring hospitals and for cancer patients only. So many children were hearing about the program that they asked how come they couldn’t get beads, too. Not all hospitals offered the program, so BOC created Beads in the Mail program. Kiwanis Sierra Vista-San Pedro is proud to have joined Beads of Courage.

Stocking Stuffers
The Stocking Stuffer program is one of our biggest projects of the year. Children in need are identified with the help of school nurses, church leaders and other community organizations. Volunteers are assigned a child to shop for, typically buying each child 2 pairs of socks, 2 shorts, socks, underwear, shoes and a jacket if needed. The gifts are wrapped and delivered to the parents just before Christmas so they can be placed under the family tree. Last year the project provided clothing for over 800 children in our community.
