Throughout the year, Kiwanis Sierra Vista-San Pedro hosts fundraisers to help support its mission, services and programs.
This year marks the 30th year for this fundraiser. For nine months, the Sizzle committee, of at least 10 subcommittees, create an entertaining evening for up to as many as 300 women. Local businessmen, firefighters, police, and military volunteer their time as waiters and wait on the ladies for tips, which they in turn donate back to this fundraiser. Local businesses and the community donate items for the silent auction. There are several raffles and gaming available during the event. This year’s theme is Last Rodeo.
Sizzle profits benefit our Stocking Stuffer program and other children’s projects that support hundreds of local children during the Christmas holiday and through out the year.
Chili Cook Off
We love our chili cook offs. With the support of High Desert Chili Pod, Veteran’s Park on the 4th of July. Chili cooks come from all over to cook. We find local business people, as well as perhaps the Mayor and of course Miss Sierra Vista to judge the chili. Club members sell raffles tickets, and chili cups for tasting. It’s a fun family day at the park.
