Fry Cemetery was the topic of the speaker this week and what a fantastic history lesson of our Fry Townsite community. The Arizona Historical Society speaker, Ingrid Baillie, Recording Secretary and Researcher for Sierra Vista Historical Society, shared her knowledge and the plan for honoring those buried in the Fry Cemetery. There will be a 100 year celebration and spotlight of those 190 individuals buried in Fry Cemetery on November 2nd at Ethel Berger Center. Come out and share a piece of our history. ... See more
K-Kids from Pueblo Del Sol Elementary School had a fantastic meeting with San Pedro Kiwanis and school counselor Amy Creek. The kids were focused on their speeches for club elections and listening to the Project Elimination presented by Nancy Drouin. So impressed by the seriousness of these young people as one young girl pulled out her $18 allowance to donate to the Eliminate project. That is enough for tetanus prevention for ten children. The Joyce Clark Middle School Builders Club students started the new school year busily making scarves for the homeless and collecting canned goods for a local food bank. On October 26, Good Neighbor Alliance will speak to the club regarding the homeless situation and to receive the scarfs. During this same day, Peaches Pantry will speak about their organization and how it support our community food distribution. They will receive the collected canned goods from the club.
